I eat lots of eggs, but the cartons get too tall (or wide). I designed this space-saving, 3D-printed storage solution.

I designed this modular, space-saving holder in Fusion 360 to solve the problem. My main goal was to design a sturdy, stackable system that could be printed quickly and without supports. I went through a couple of iterations to get the sizing correct to fit the eggs, and to make it fit on my printer.

I have a Bambu Labs A1, print volume of 256x256x256mm. This just barely fits diagonally on my print bed. This organizer has enough clearance to fit all large eggs. You could shrink the model to only fit most large eggs, or grow it to fit XL or Jumbo eggs.

This fits where I normally would put a dozen carton of eggs in my fridge. It is a bit wider, but not 1.5x wider, maybe like 1.25x

Yes this is a big print. No you don't need to use a ton of material. I use 1 wall, and like 10-20% infill, you really don't need more. I thought about trying to reduce the volume of my divider, then I realized I should be minimizing surface area. The fact that there is a lot of volume to the divider makes is strong enough to handle 1 wall, and low infill.

Print the Base with the rounded side up. Add a brim of at least 1-2mm, otherwise the chances of lost adhesion is too high, make sure there isn't a gap between the brim and the model. It isn't too hard to take off once it's printed.

I also recommend gluing in the cylinder things. They fall out too easy otherwise. You can skip them, but if you bump the organizer, then the only thing keeping the pieces together is the eggs themselves, and eggs are notoriously not strong.

If you like what I design, please like and review the model plus follow me and check out what else I've made. The more love I get, the more I will design. I also accept tips via Venmo @skedran
