Why? Because every insert driver out there, no matter if it’s 3D printed or commercial, has the same issue: play. Inserts always wiggle a little, and that tiny movement makes the difference between a good tool and a great one. And I hate it. Totally.

The DSD fixes this once and for all with a simple but genius trick: a M3x6 mm screw combined with a square M3 nut (exactly the same ones Prusa includes in their spares). The insert clicks in magnetically, and then locks perfectly tight with the screw. No wobble, no slack, just pure precision. It works especially well with 100 mm long insert bits, which are easy to find on Amazon or AliExpress. 

• Zero play → the screw + nut system locks inserts firmly in place.
• Dual magnets → one inside for retention, one outside so you can hang the tool, pick up screws, or keep them stuck while you work.
• Two models included → TPU handle with soft grip, or single-material version for simplicity.
• No supports needed → prints fast and clean.
• Color-coded handles → print Philips in red, flathead in green, hex in blue… you’ll always grab the right one at a glance.

Printing Instructions

• No supports required.
• Print the insert part with 4–6 perimeters (first layers) to ensure maximum strength and durability.
• Both PETG and PLA are perfectly suitable.
