Disclaimer - this is a VERY old project. Posting here - feel free to send me improvements.
This was made as just a fun project! I wanted a camera slider that was quite long, however the prebuilt professional ones were quite expensive, hence this. The slider uses conduit and some 3D printed parts as well as a motor and motor controller from Amazon (listed below).
If you happen to make this, please let me know! I'm looking for suggestions/improvements for future renditions.
Special Credit to JayMake as their belt clamps were adapted in this (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2523813)
Printed Parts: 1x Right Side 1x Left Side 1x Sled
Optional- 1x Top cover 2x - Connectors if you're connecting EMT together
Non Printed Parts Used:
Motor (12V/100RPM) - https://amzn.to/2WEYGZw PWM Speed Control - https://amzn.to/2KQ1Ken Power Supply - https://amzn.to/2XfKndt Motor Pulley - https://amzn.to/2Kj4v8s GT2 Belt - https://amzn.to/2FbKegO Conduit - This is what I used, since my local Home Depot had it in stock, but any 1/2 in EMT will do. I would recommend getting metal tubing over plastic however. -https://thd.co/2RdWP88 Idler Pulleys - https://amzn.to/2IG8rwM Hot glue and Glue gun
You will also need M3 Screws for the electronics and a few #6 screws if you want to print and attach the roof.
Optional Stuff Anet endstops - https://amzn.to/2KicHWE Screw Assortment* - https://amzn.to/2ZpaJqM Expanding foam glue - https://amzn.to/2X88RW4
*These are used for the electronics, the optional roof and pipe extensions are designed to be used with #6 screws and bolts (sorry, that's what I had on hand :/ )
**The length of these parts can vary depending on how long you want your slider to be!
PLANNED IMPROVEMENTS
---CHANGE LOG---
Printer:
Ender 3 Pro
Resolution:
.3
Infill:
30 - Gyroid
Filament: Any Any PLA/ABS/ Sturdy Filaments
Notes:
I would recommend printing "EMC_Connect.stl" & "Left Side.stl" on their sides as to prevent sag in some parts and increase the rigidity of the pieces. These pieces shouldn't need supports.
I printed "right side.stl" just as it is with no supports.
I printed "sled.stl" so the flat side faced down. There was a bit of sag in the cutouts for the screw heads, so supports are optional here, but not 100% necessary.
I printed "TopCover.stl" with the curve facing the bed, using supports, however it could be printed straight up in theory.
