I was looking for something interesting to test with my new clear prusament PETG, and I had a benchy on my table, so I thought about creating a benchy in a bottle.
I knew the clear PETG won't be ‘really clear’ so I created some windows to see the benchy inside.
It's multiple parts, and can be done on a single printer with a single extruder.
In order to print this properly, you need to FIRST print the ‘bottle-bottom’ file and a benchy.
Then, when you print the bottle, you need to add 2 pauses in the print -
The first pause I created just below where the window starts, and then I place in the ‘water’ that's inside the bottle.
After that I created another pause just before the ‘ceiling’ of the bottle is placed. This is for inserting the benchy. I created a ‘ceiling’ inside the bottle so I won't need any supports inside of the bottle (only supports required for the outside of the bottle - You can use ‘supports on build plate only’).
For your convenience, i'm adding a few sliced files - 2 for the prusa mini and 2 for the prusa mk3. One if for PLA and the other for PETG, and all of them have the ‘pauses’ set at the exact places I used.
(I didn't include a sliced version of the benchy, but make sure to print one before printing the bottle!)
For the benchy and the stand I used Prusament Mystic Brown, but you can obviously use whichever color you like.
