Enclosure for a digital weighing scale

To protect and safely transport my digital scale, I designed this enclosure with a cover.

For the scale’s housing, it was important to me that the design remain as compact as possible, with all components kept together - whether the housing is closed or open for use. When weighing, the cover is removed and placed flat-side down on the table. The scale is then inserted into the cover and secured using the locking clips. To prevent slipping while in the open position, I printed a 0.6 mm layer of foaming flexible filament onto the cover. I also used flexible filament on the section of the fixing brackets that holds down the scale. Alternatively, the housing can also be printed entirely with PETG, for example.

Assembly instruction:
  1. deburr parts if needed
  2. add hexagon nuts M4 (4x) to bottom and cover
  3. allign latch and add cylinder head screw to bottom and cover
  4. add scale to bottom and add fixing bracket using countersunk screws
  5. add cover to bottom and close latch
