This is the Bass Beam featured in my latest youtube video:
I havent made any assembly instructions yet but some basics here below to help with the build:
All neck pieces are printed at 100% infill
Other parts can be printed at 15% with atleast 3 wall perimeters (I prefer to use more though)
The string itself needs to be printed in tpu (95) and the pause needs to be placed at the 12th or 13th layer (Just before the tube begins to close up) to insert your hard filament of choice (PETG or PLA+ seems to both work well)
This spiral should give you plenty of extra string length but I can design a shorter one later that will take less time to print and wouldnt require trimming to size
The pickup clamp was designed for the specific contact mic i used, but can be easily modified to suit different ones.
The string end/clip assembly works by inserting the string into the “string end” and then using the 2 string clip pieces to clamp around the string before inserting into the square hole of the string end. The taper on the string clip allows the tension of the string itself to clamp onto the string..if that makes any sense
print 3 of the full fingerboards and one of the half sized one. The half sized one fits closest to the headstock
I used an arbor press to help push the dovetail pieces together. They are a pretty tight fit
I will update with more tips as I remember them
