Overview

A compact, support‑free hook for hanging baskets, rings, or tools from the underside of a shelf or ceiling. Designed by hakkaisha for people who want a quick, strong, and low‑profile hanger that installs with wood screws and keeps the load secure without twisting.

Design Intent

This model was iterated to maximize strength while remaining easy to print. It is intended for indoor use as a ceiling/under‑shelf hook where:

  • Layer lines are aligned to the load for better tensile strength.
  • The primary flat‑head wood screw carries most of the force.
  • A secondary screw is optional and used to stop rotation and add extra security.
  • Prints without supports to keep the part clean and strong.

Target users: home organizers, makers, and anyone needing a compact hanger. Environment: indoor shelves/joists/wood surfaces. Key constraints: easy print, good strength, minimal hardware, no supports. Durability goals: strong under shear, reinforced by the main screw. Trade‑offs: compact size means it’s for reasonable household loads, not heavy-duty or safety‑critical lifting.

Features

  • Support‑free geometry; prints cleanly in the provided orientation.
  • Screw‑through reinforcement: the primary screw routes through the strongest section.
  • Anti‑rotation design: second screw location to lock the bracket from twisting.
  • Low‑profile body tucks under shelves and cabinets.
  • Chamfered/countersunk holes for flat‑head wood screws.
  • Works with ring handles and hanging loops (e.g., wire baskets, key rings, light tools).
  • Simple, fast installation with common wood screws.
  • Optimized layer direction for strength.

Assembly

Hardware

  • 1x flat‑head wood screw, minimum 20 mm length (primary structural screw).
  • 1x flat‑head wood screw, shorter is fine (optional anti‑rotation screw).

Steps

  1. Position the hook under a solid wood surface (shelf, joist, or similar). Not recommended for drywall alone.
  2. Mark and pre‑drill pilot holes appropriate for your screws and wood species.
  3. Drive the long screw through the main reinforced hole until snug.
  4. If desired, add the second, shorter screw in the auxiliary hole to prevent rotation.
  5. Hang your ring/basket/loop and check for secure fit before loading.

Fit and print tips

  • Print at the supplied orientation; no supports needed.
  • Common FDM defaults work well: ~0.2 mm layer height, 3–4 perimeters, 20–30% infill.
  • Material: PLA is fine for light indoor loads; use PETG/ABS for higher temperatures or greater toughness.

Safety & Usage Notes

  • Not for overhead safety‑critical loads or lifting above people or pets.
  • Use only in solid wood; ensure adequate screw length and proper pilot holes.
  • Check installation periodically for wear, cracking, or loosened screws.
  • Keep small parts away from children; edges may be sharp right off the printer.
  • Avoid high heat exposure if printed in PLA.
