After designing my External Spool Holder for Prusa XL Enclosure, I realized that the official model for the Buddy3D Camera mount prevents me from using them. I also wanted to try to rotate the mount point slightly in order to get the camera at a better angle relative to the bed and harness for extruder 1 (in retrospect, I'm not sure if it makes much difference).

  • Use the XL_Twist_lock.stl file from Prusa's official Buddy3D Camera mount
  • Just like with the official part, you will need three m3x10mm screws. Shorter would probably work (especially if you go with 3 instead of 2 on the exterior), but I'll leave that decision up to you.

There are two versions of the file:

  • Standard mount position in the top+front+left of the enclosure.
  • Right-hand mount for the other side. This one has slightly different geometry to accommodate the enclosure's lights.

You shouldn't need to do anything special to print this. The overhangs are set to a max of 30° and print great in PETG or PC-CF with the 0.2-structural preset (though I'd recommend switching to adaptive cubic infill that provides a bit more reinforcement of the perimeters).

As with most of my models, you can find the parametric CAD at onshape.
