I wanted a reliable adapter for playing VR tennis so I made this one. The tracking isn't flawless but it's far more consistent than anything else I've tried.

  • You'll need supports for both parts. I recommend tree supports, but anything will work.
  • You can print the clamp in any convenient orientation.
  • Thread the holes as you go with M3x20 screws (or longer). They should go in pretty easily.
  • I added room for M3 nuts if you'd like maximum safety, but I haven't used any so far.
  • I used 4 walls and 50-70% infill, both to add stability and to make it feel more like a real racket. If you don't care about the latter, you'll probably be fine with 30% infill. No guarantees though!

Note that I designed the handle to print diagonally on a 256x256 print bed, so you'll need to print at a significant angle if you have less space than that. Just don't stand it on end (even if the adhesion didn't fail, you'd have the layer lines going in a very snappable-during-swings direction).

And keep in mind that a Quest 3 controller with a battery in it is a little below 130g. To tweak the point of balance, you can use modifiers to adjust the infill distribution.

Let me know if you encounter any issues!
