These are the base design files for my Hex Connect phone mounting system. Using the provided .step files, Hex Connect can be easily implemented into other projects.
The stencils are used to cut out the hole in the back of the phone case. Any case or Hex Connect accessory should be printed in the orientation of the design files.
Use the Testers plate to try out how Hex Connect works. Make sure to set the tester down on a table to simulate the back of a phone, as the design relies on this backstop to work.

Print Tips:
Bed adhesion is key. Any warping of the part (mostly only a worry with ABS and ASA) will cause the connector to not work as well. Make sure the bed is clean (soap and water if it's been a while since cleaning) and apply bed adhesion helper (glue stick etc…) if your material needs it.
Always print in the orientation of the provided files.
Post-Print Instructions:
Remove the little round semicircles (12 total) from around the base of the connector with a fingernail of flush cutters. These tabs are only to help with bed adhesion on those specific sharp corners.
XL Only: With two hands, put your thumbs on the bottom middle of the connector and your other fingers on the top of the outer ring. Push upwards with your thumbs to ensure the center spokes are released from the outer ring.
Pinch each pair of teeth to ensure they are freed up. If they don't free up after pinching firmly, check for warping in the part or over-extrusion.
