9/29/22: By suggestion from Astroprinter I reworked v15 to redirect some of the cooling air down through the cone to help keep smoke/debris from flowing up around the lens.
Update: I've been doing some wood etching and it's become apparent the nozzle needs a redesign. More clearance to the material and a larger orifice to help prevent clogging. I had to pause a job to clear soot from it before a cut layer. The pump didn't make enough pressure to blow the soot off.
5/31/22: New Version uploaded with the above changes; almost double the distance to the material surface now. Air nozzle clearance to the approximate focal point is about 11mm.
I never really liked the red shield that came on the Z1. It seemed to restrict the cooling fan air flow and the clearance to the material was too little to do proper cuts in thicker than 2mm materials. This design uses aquarium tubing that press-fits into the port. The outflow from the cooling fan is almost completely unrestricted.
There is now 5mm between the material and the nozzle. The design can be shortened if it turns out more clearance is needed. Probably best to use PETG or better for heat resistance.
I also did a 2:1 y-pipe for the walmart dual port aquarium pump…
