These holes are designed for applying small blobs of aquarium silicone, providing a flexible, stable, and stress-free way to secure the mirror.

⚠ Notice: When using PETG or other filaments with low surface energy (such as PC), silicone adhesion can be reduced. To improve bonding, lightly roughen the contact surface or apply a suitable primer. ABS and ASA generally bond well with silicone, while PLA also gives good adhesion but is not appropriate for exterior.

My own print was made in PC-CF. Despite the lower adhesion of PC, the conical shape of the holes ensures the silicone blobs hold securely in place.

Thanks to La3emedimension for the original design :-)

Differences of the remix compared to the original

Added three through-holes on the base plate of the secondary mirror holder.

These holes are intended for applying blobs of aquarium silicone to secure the mirror.

The rest of the geometry remains identical to the original design to ensure full compatibility with the telescope kit.
