Designed for battery operated time lapse outdoor cameras so has some weather protection.
2 different backs, one is vented for streaming use and the other not vented for time lapse use. Slides in but exposes the header pins completely.
Case and weather housing have 2.5mm through holes for 3mm mounting bolts or similar or could stitch together with printer filament, I have not needed it.
Also added a model I designed of the camera PCB itself to design around in case its useful to anyone.
The camera clips into the front section with an overhang at one end and a small lip at the other, the SD card also ensures it stays in place. I print with supports on so remember to remove the tiny support inside the case or the PCB will not fit inside.
There are 2 versions of the inner case, one called esp32-cam_front_with_cable is designed for a heavy gauge USB cable soldered to the top of the header pins, as per photos.
Weatherproof outer case which either case will fit into, should be a semi rain proof housing, a slot in the front takes a microscope slide and covers the lens and flash.
A full size 1" x 3" slide will fit and overhang the edges but slide should be cut to size which is anywhere from 35-48mm, photo with uncut slide.
Rear of weatherproof case can be bolted on with 3mm bolts or glued, slots in the flange of the back is for cable ties for mounting.
edit 2021, updated the front with just a slightly deeper SD card hole. Added a new rear plate with an integrated ball joint receiver and 2 ball joint variations. One is a generic one with an 8mm hole designed for a 3mm bolt in the base.
The ball joint receiver has a 2.5mm hole in the side for screwing in a 3mm bolt if it needs clamping but I have found its a tight enough fit as is (5.8mm ball into 6mm hole).
Since rear plate is also mechancial it also locks into the front with 2 tiny tabs.
aug 2021: added small tripod for ball joint mount
