Description

PDF

Based off the Makerbot Nut & Bolt demo piece, I expanded it to fit a standard sized drink can.

Make sure to print with at least 2 shells.

To achieve this, I printed the nut, then printed the mug and paused it at about 75% to screw the nut on and resume printing.

If you want to deboss something on the underside, I recommend a depth of 1mm.

Instructions

I printed this with standard Medium Makerbot Settings.

  • 2 shells at the default width.

How I did it was print the nut first, the do the mug as a separate print. I paused the print at about 75% and screwed the nut on, and resumed the print. The key is to let it build about half an inch above the top of where the nut would rest at the base of the screw.
