Wormgear for R260 / RS260 DC motor with round or knurled shaft

If, like me, you struggle to find the right motor, you can buy a cheap R260 (sometimes also called an RS260) motor from AliExpress, which is the exact size you need. I couldn’t find a variant with a D-shaped shaft, so I bought one with a knurled shaft instead. Simply press (or gently tap) the new worm gear onto the shaft of the motor, and you’re good to go. Just don’t forget to grease the moving parts of the model. This motor doesn’t have much torque, so without proper lubrication it may struggle to turn the engine.
