i dont think this is better than castle bravo i think they have their own pros and cons
why u should print castle bravo instead of this:
needs to be removed from bed a bit carefully
u might need a zip tie, not as sturdy as castle bravo.image from proxysocks
usb-c not on top like castle bravo so a 90 degree usbc adapter preferred
Uses those ir bulbs recommended in the old babble doc and doesn't incorporate small ir led pcb this image from sven118 is what im talking about
and in case u were wondering proxysocks said that reusing etvr ir pcb for babble tracker isnt as effective
why I use this: it's kinda small tho that doesnt mean it;'s good
This design remixes elements from [Proxy, T1MAT1C, and Castle Bravo’s case](https://www.printables.com/model/1156190-xiao-sense-case-castle-bravo-seeed-studio-esp32s3).
I’ve been using it for 3+ weeks with no issues, so it’s stable enough to share. update: 4 months and still using the same build, except with a zip tie.
### Build Notes / Guide
- IR Camera; recommend this only because it has a short ribbon size: Color: 21MM 850nm camera I will can't link it because it keeps on changing all thefreaking time u just need to search for it
- **optional Camera ribbon protection**: [guide here](https://docs.eyetrackvr.dev/how_to_build/preparing_cameras#protecting-a-camera-ribbon-cable)
- **Camera board:** you’ll need to remove the SD slot- easiest done with pliers. I just ripped it off carefully but if ur paranoid u can desolder
- **Printing:**
- Layer height: 0.12–0.28 mm (minimal difference, use 0.28 for speed)
- Material: PETG or better for heat resistance
- Supports: not needed
- Wait for the bed to cool before removing the print.
- optionally put on a zip tie if turns out to not be sturdy.
shrinkwrap + heat gun: i dont use it cuz lazy and usually if i had a problem it happens regardless if i shrinkwrap which makes me want to pie
---
### Camera Notes
- Like T1MAT1C's, it is intended for small ribbon length such as 21mm
- Works with the stock camera that comes with XIAO Sense (1cm ribbon), you can swap in a leftover 130° etvr camera lens (unscrew default cam, reuse board/ribbon)
---
### Modify It
Included Blender file uses a **Boolean splitter mesh**.
- Invert the normals of the splitter mesh (**Alt+N**) to split the opposite side.
