The SS3 key fob buttons are too easy to accidentally push, so I made this case for prevention and protection.

I like the look of the SimpliSafe3 home security key fob, but the buttons are too easy to push accidentally, so I created a case to both protect the key fob from being scratched and prevent accidental button pushes (including the panic button).  It took me only 3 iterations to get to this design, so it's a relatively straight forward design.  I designed it for:

  1. Printing with PETG material to take advantage of the flex characteristics of the material.
  2. It allows one end of the case to flex “open” and let the key fob slide in and snap closed once in place to stay on the key fob securely.
  3. The design still allows you to easily access the panic button if you need to.

I've been using mine for about 6 months on my key chain (and in my pockets) and not a single accidental button-push!

I would love to find out if it worked out for you, so please post a make when you get a chance.

0.20mm layer works fine, 2 perimeters.

If you add this to your collection and/or download the model, please click the LIKE button and give it some STARS!

Remember, you can earn some Prusameters if you post a pic of your make!  Plus, it would make my day. ;-)

Happy printing!
