To use the ORB for soup with smaller doses of coffee but maintain a deep bed, one can use an espresso basket in place of the stock Oxo basket. This adapter will fit a typical 49-52mm espresso basket with round flange, such as those by IMS, Normcore, Picopresso, etc. It also allows using any cup or vessel to press/dose/weigh instead of the stock cup.
The trouble comes when trying to seal the basket against the shower of the ORB: the shower is wider than the basket flange and sends water outside the basket and through the threads. This remix allows using a properly-seated gasket to seal the basket and adapter to the shower screen.
Additionally, a 3-cup Moka Pot filter fits exactly onto a 49mm basket and is thin enough to not interfere with the gasket seal, enabling extra gentle saturation of the coffee bed. The kit linked below contains both. The gasket is 65mm wide and 2.5mm thick. Thinner gaskets may be used.
Do you have a flat-flange basket? They are thinner than the round-top baskets and may not make a complete seal. I'd like to know if they do. Because the gasket is compressible, I might be able to compromise with a flange depth between the two and satisfy both needs.

The author remixed this model.
Remix of a remix by @D in EAF, adapted for use with a 3-cup moka pot gasket to seal the large shower against the smaller basket. My baskets won't seal properly with the original models. D was using the Joepresso accessory for the Aeropress.
