I have made some counterweight levers in the shape of fish skeletons for our clothes line. The tail of each fish is connected via a pulley to my clothes line, the line from the mouth has a rock as a counter balance to keep the clothes lines tensioned.
They've served well for a number of years but the original hinge points, which were simple notches in the wood balanced on a length of aluminium angle, have not fared well.l
Since I had a roll of ASA on the printer, it seemed time to design a more robust hinge.
If you have a 19mm thick piece of something that is balanced on a 4mm thick piece of aluminium, you may be able to make use of this!
