GoPro 8 mount for Mario 5 frames

This is a very-easy-to-print and sturdy case for the GoPro 8 Black, which includes a mount for the SpeedyBee Mario 5 frame. As TPU-LW is quite hard to print well, I designed the model to be as easy to print as possible; superglue is thus required.

The case has two side holes to allow for the camera to be inserted and pushed out. The fit is quite tight, it won't easily come out, and certainly won't during flight. Importantly, the screen is also protected: mine previously broke super easily with different mounts, and now the LCD is on the verge of total destruction. This is why this case also focuses on protecting the display. The Power and Record buttons, as well as the microphone and the front display, are exposed through holes in the parts.

Unlike the standard mount provided, it does not have a cable guide (as I don't use it).

I printed mine with TPU-LW from eSUN. Many slicer profiles are available on their website. Other TPU filaments should also work fine. Remember to use Stick-Glue or similar to REDUCE bed adhesion, and try not to use a PEI bed! TPU likes to become one with PEI print surfaces, especially textured ones…

  • 2 or 3 walls for the case itself.
  • little infill required for the case.
  • Use more infill and/or walls for the mount piece (otherwise the camera might wobble a bit).
  • There are some bridges and overhangs, but they are quite small. Supports should NOT be required.
  • Every case part can be printed on its flat face, while the mount can be printed in many orientations, it's not a complicated piece. Pay attentions to the side part, the flat piece must touch the bed.

First, glue the 3 case parts together, one by one. Finally, glue the mount piece to the bottom of the case. It should fit in between the two protruding lines at the bottom.

You have to insert the threaded aluminium rods in the mount piece of course, so that it can be secured with screws.
