Synology DS920+ Air Filter

This is a filter for the front of a Synology DS 920+ NAS and probably other 4 bay models from Synology.  It keeps dust, spiders and insects out of your device. The opening is big enough to keep access to the disks and there is plenty of space to keep your accessories like numbered keys.

I glued the base part to the front of the NAS with double sided adhesive tape. The two front parts take a 120x120x1.7 mm air filter for computer fans and are screwed to the base with M3 bolts.

If you want to replace the filter or need access to your disks you can take the front off by loosing the four bolts. That's why I decided to use thread inserts for more durability.

Additional material:

• 4x M3 thread inserts
• 4x M3 8 mm bolts
• 4x M3 washers (recommended)
• some double sided adhesive tape
• 1x 120mm air filter

PLA will do the job. Print the base with some more perimeters to have enough material for the thread inserts. I used 5 perimeters. Infill doesn't really matter here so 10% is enough. The top parts can be printed in standard settings like 2 perimeters and also low infill.
