UPDATE 01.10.2025:
Added brackets for AMS 2 Pro! Also new printer bracket design.
NOTE:
After a long period of use, the 80° angle revels to be the most appropriate. So for simplicity the collection was reverted to a fixed angle variants of the printer brackets for both AMS units.
Also for better toughness I decided to leave the M3x30 mm screws as spin axes instead of a 3D printed variant.
=========================
A lifting mechanism for the Bambu Lab AMS unit.
The reason to design it from scratch is that I really didn't like the so called “AMS risers". I wanted something simple and more effective. The one uploaded to Maker World is great like an idea but poorly designed (extremely tight tolerances and lack of 3D printing optimisation). I do not justify the use of a hammer if it is inevitable…
So, the calipers, the AMS, the X1C, a lot of tests, filament and optimisations to obtain the final results - firm but not tight assembly, ease of printing, possibility of small adjustments and so on. It is also an elegant and space saving variant to have quick access to the printer insides.
Enjoy and Happy printing!
P.S.
If you have some suggestions, remarks or remix ideas, please give some feedback.
List of materials:
M3x30 mm screws - 10 pcs.
M3 nuts - 2 pcs.
M3x16 mm screws - 2 pcs. (You can also use the transportation ones from the AMS unit of the X1C combo variant.)
2.5 mm (and 2.0 mm) Allen key.
PETG, ASA or ABS filament.
Print at 0.2 mm layer height, 4 perimeters and at least 25% infill.
Mounting tips:
When mounting the printer brackets, don't fully tighten these. After joining the AMS unit, you can adjust the brackets if they need to and then fully secure them.
