Ford Ranger Emblem Backup Camera Spacer

I got a new stereo head unit that had provisions for a backup camera So I went looking for something that looked good compared to the license plate mount ones. This is an emblem mounted backup camera for newer model Rangers and other Ford models I believe. It's an after market one with the same dimensions as OEM. They're available for ~ $50 on the regular online shopping sites.

The only mounting problem was the camera protruded about 11mm proud of the rear surface of the unit. I had two choices punch a another hole in the tailgate ( My Ranger seems to be able to create enough holes on it's own) for the rear camera to slid into or 3D print a spacer to fit between the camera and tailgate. Of course I went the spacer route.

The alignment pins for the spacer and camera fit in the same holes as the original emblem. The spacer mounts to the tailgate with automotive trim tape just like the original emblem and the camera mount screws into the spacer with 5mm machine screws. No machining is required. The picture from the camera seems ok but be aware that these cameras are avaiable with different resolutions so choose one that is appropriate for your head unit.
