Rolling spool holder for Prusa Core ONE using 608 bearings. Fits 1kg spools up to 71mm wide.
The static spool holder would vibrate and cause irritating sounds whenever the extruder would do a quick extrusion after a retraction. After some careful observations, I realised that this happened due to rubbing with the spool (very noticeable with cardboard spools). So I decided to make this model to reduce the annoying noise produced by the spool and the holder.
All you need are 2x M3x15 screws and 2x 608 bearings. You attach it to the side panel using the screws of the removed holder. The bearings are press fit into the parts, and the screws do not require heated inserts.
I recommend printing as shown in the picture, with 15% infill and 3-4 perimeters. I used PLA for the Main Body and PETG for the rest. PLA should work for all parts if you don't have PETG.
The cap can be tensioned on the roller tube/main body using the screws if you prefer the bearings to spin more or less freely.
Includes two types of main bodies and caps, two with tighter fit for the screws. The ones with 3.1mm work well for me, use 2.9mm if you have doubts and want more grip for the screws.
Beware that spools with wide gaps will require you to print an adapter, the same way a Bambulab AMS requires adapters. So far I've discovered that Sunlu old plastic rolls will need such thing.
