Dremel Desktop Drill Press Stand - Pine Makers

The Dremel Desktop Drill Press Stand is a larger, more advanced solution for stable and precise vertical drilling.
Unlike the wall-mounted version, this stand sits firmly on any flat surface like a lamp, giving you full control with minimal effort.

It is composed of 4 printed parts:
1. Half circle – secures the Dremel.
2. Dremel holder – clamps around the tool.
3. Bottom stand part – base of the structure.
4. Top stand part – connects with bottom via slots.

For smooth vertical movement, the stand requires two metal rods (⌀12 mm, length 26.5 cm, preferably hollow for reduced weight).
A rubber band is added to balance the movement, allowing you to raise/lower the Dremel easily with one finger.
Two M2x12mm screws (5mm diameter holes, min length 12mm) are required for assembly.

Make a pause when slicing for inserting the screws.

This design provides an almost “mini drill press” experience, perfect for precision projects without investing in expensive equipment.

New: Two additional adapters were added to accommodate different Dremel sizes. Stronger rubber bands may be required depending on the tool’s weight. The same screws still apply.

Print Settings

• Printer type: FDM
• Material used: PLA (recommended: PETG or ABS for better strength)
• Layer height: 0.2 mm
• Supports: Required
• Infill: 5-10%
• Approx. print time: 5.5 – 7 hours
• Parts: 4 (half circle, Dremel holder, top stand, bottom stand)

Assembly & Finishing Instructions

1. Print all 4 stand parts (Pause mid print for screws inserts).
2. Fit top and bottom parts together via slots.
3. Insert 2 metal rods (⌀12 mm, 26.5 cm length).
4. Install the Dremel holder and half-circle clamp with screws.
5. Attach a rubber band to allow smooth up/down movement.
6. Place stand on any flat surface and begin drilling.

Optional: Light lubrication on metal rods can improve smooth sliding.

• Ensure the accessory is firmly assembled before use.
• Wear protective gear (safety goggles, gloves) when drilling.
• Do not use excessive pressure; allow the tool to work at its own speed.
• Keep hands clear of the drill bit during operation.
• Check rods and rubber band before each use for wear or damage.
