My recently developed 3D printed antenna holder offers a significantly improved and secure solution for mounting the DJI O4 Pro Air Unit on the DeepSpace Seeker 3 drone frame. This upgraded holder is engineered to provide superior antenna placement and protection, crucial for maximizing the robustness of the video link during flight.
Crafted from durable and lightweight TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) or other flexible materials, the antenna mount is designed to withstand the rigors of FPV flying while minimizing added weight. Its new design ensures that the antennas are positioned at an optimized angle of 60 degrees, a significant update from the original holder's 30-degree placement. This steeper angle is crucial for maintaining clear signal transmission and reception, significantly reducing the risk of signal obstruction from the drone's frame.
Key improvements include a more precise fit for the DJI O4 Pro Air Unit's antennas. Specifically, the antenna reception socket has been updated to 3.5mm, providing an appropriate fit compared to the overly tight 3 mm socket in the original design. This refinement reduces stress on the parts and eliminates vibration during aggressive maneuvers.
The flexible nature of the TPU material also helps to absorb impacts in the event of a crash, protecting the antennas from damage. This innovation provides pilots with a highly reliable and efficient method for truly optimizing their advanced video transmission system.
