An original model for a solid keyboard cover with a snug fit around the frame with good clearance for the keys and knob. Can double as an oversized palm rest when not in use.
Instructions
- Each half slides on from the side of the keyboard and push firmly into place.
- Pull apart from bottom edges to remove from keyboard. Blocks & notches added to help with removal.
- Press-fit 6x3mm magnet holes are included, but not required.
- No supports required. Files are already oriented properly, with endcaps flat on the print plate.
- PETG recommended to withstand shock, but should work fine with PLA.
- No brim required for PETG.
My Print
- Printer: Prusa CORE ONE with stock HF 0.4mm brass nozzle
- Filament: Polymaker Polylite PETG Dark Blue
- Filament Profile: Generic PETG (250 Nozzle/85 Plate)
- Settings: 15% gyroid infill, 3 perimeters, 5 top & bottom shells, Enabled infill combination, No brim
- Filament used: 299.25g, 97.96m
- Print time: 7hrs 21 min
- Note: I accidentally added a color change that created a ridge in the last 3mm. That has been removed to make the model a single color.
Notes
- After doing some tests, I found 2mm shell thickness too flexy. Increased to 3mm.
- Added diamond pattern inside to increase stiffness. Interior still clears keys and knob fine.
- Adjusted clearance for top and bottom cleats for a more snug fit.
- Added a few notches and blocks to help fingers get purchase to pull the thing apart.
