This is a remix of VladTheInhaler's awesome MiniCaster controller design. I liked his design so much and wanted to improve on the design a little to focus less on portability and more on comfort and aesthetic accuracy to the guitars that inspired their shape.
I highly recommend checking out VladTheInhaler's designs, and especially his youtube videos where he walks through the build process.
Changes from original model:
- Extended neck and increased neck radius for improved comfort
- Added headstock and pickguard components for aesthetics (original based on Fender Jaguar)
- Added Gibson Les Paul styled variant, dubbed “PaulCaster”
- Added Gibson Explorer styled variant, dubbed “SploreCaster"
- Added Gibson Flying V styled variant, dubbed “VeeCaster"
- Improved button designs to improve durability and reduce sticking
- Modified strummer to utilize 1/8" steel dowel rod for rotation axle, rather than the pair of 3mm screws and nuts present in the original design.
- This requires reaming of the strummer 3mm holes with a 1/8" bit to get a good smooth fit on the rod, followed by pressing the rod into the supports on the bottom body components
- Added “-” and “+” symbol to start and select buttons
- Added small notch to yellow fret button to serve as a tactile marker when playing
