Origin

I made this model to use in watchmaking courses to explain the function of the escapement. It is modeled after the escapement in the movement Zweigesicht-1 from Marco Lang. Marco Lang provides the CAD for the movement on his Website. On this point a thanks to Marco Lang, it is really nice to have a resource like this.

Printing

I printed everything with a 0.4 nozzle and 0.2 layer height. The fit is quite snug. To get rid of the bump from the seams, I used a deburring tool. Scarf seams also help a lot.

The baseplate was cut in half in the slicer, with the dovetail function, and glued together later.

Assembly

The roller pin can just be pressed into the roller plate.

The pallets have to be set into the escapement lever and to the correct depth, and then glued in place. To get the correct depth, there is a little mark on the underside of the escapement lever. The best thing is to try it out if it works correctly before gluing anything.

For the height of the pallets in the escapement lever, there should be around in the middle. For reference, there is a picture.
