Overview:

I store my tractor in one half of my workshop and keep the door opener attached to it.  Unfortunately, one day when I was mowing a field, the opener got knocked off by some hanging branches, and I didn’t notice it was gone until I got back and couldn’t open the door.  I scoured the field and found nothing but shards.  Apparently, it was run over by the mower.  By some miracle however, the circuit board was unscathed and still working.

I designed a custom case and some buttons.  I also modeled the circuit board to ensure a tight fit.  The top and bottom of the case snap together and can be pried apart to change the battery.  It works great.  My only regret is I didn’t take the time to incorporate something to hang it, mount it or somehow attach it securely to the tractor.  That will be a future upgrade.

This circuit board was for a Chamberlain Lift Master, but I’ve included my Fusion 360 file, so you can customize it for your needs.  Start by updating the geometry of the circuit board.

Printing:

I printed all parts in PLA, but most any filament will do.  No supports required if printed in the orientation shown (note the orientation of the buttons).  You may need to add a brim to the buttons, but I didn’t need it.
