Overview:
We have several bubble-style “while in use” covers for our exterior receptacles, but wasps like to make nests in them. This adds quite a surprise when you open a cover to plug something in, and they can also damage the receptacle by filling the plugs with nesting material.
I designed this crude plug to tightly fit in the space in the cover where the electrical cord flows into. This plug allows you to still use an electrical cord.
I’ve included my Fusion 360 file in case you wanted to make some adjustments. It is all based on parameters and is easily fine-tuned.
Printing:
This needs to be printed in TPU to not only fit it into the cover but also allow an electrical cord to pass through it. I recommend printing it in the orientation shown which requires minimal supports.
