Heltec Vision e290 Enclosure with Room for Components

This enclosure is for the Heltec Vision e290

  • E-Paper display is nicely framed and fully visible
  • Room for a realtime clock and GPS
  • Fits a 4000 mAh or smaller LiPo
  • Space for external hard on/off switch
  • Several mounting loops, so you can velcro or zip tie to whatever
  • Free standing
  • Dedicated space for acconeer pulsed radar (sparkfun version)

Assembly Instructions as PDF (attached)

I have attached fairly detailed assembly instructions, if you're building a Blackout Comms device. If you're building a different device, you'll have to figure a few steps out on your own.

Printable Files

I included both STL and 3MF versions of the printable files. The only variation you want to think about is if you decide to add the XM125 pulsed radar, you'll need to use the enclosure back that has the extra space. Otherwise, you can use either back plate you want.

Material

ABS is working well for me with this enclosure. Note that the screen of this device does get fairly warm, so I'm not sure whether PLA would have a problem with that or not. I've never noticed it hot, but it does get warm.
