Shrink the M1 Mac mini!

Why:

When Apple launched the M1 Mac mini, it brought serious performance improvements over the outgoing generation; however, the design remained unchanged and the majority of the parts were brought over from the 2018 Mac mini. With the low TDP of M1, they're completely overkill and unnecessary. We set out to make the Mac mini smaller without compromising on performance.

What:

• 2020 Apple M1 Mac mini
• DC/DC Conversion Board (this same board appears under a lot of different brands on a lot of different sites)
• PSU that can supply at least 12V and up to 65W (4A). We used the Microsoft Surface 15V/4A adapter.
• A1398 MacBook Pro MagSafe 2 DC-IN Power Board
• MagSafe 2 cable (you can also cut an original MagSafe charger)
• M2 heat set inserts
• M2 screws in 4mm and 6mm
