Mini cooper R50 R53 arm rest lid magnet lock

The armrest of the early new minis have a lock that tends to break quickly. The lid of the armrest therefor starts sliding all over the place.

This lock mechanism contains of 3 parts.

1: The inlay with 2 magnets (8x2mm)

2: The tabs ont he lid itself. you need to print 2, 1 normal and 1 mirrored. Each take a magnet aswell.

You need to cut/grind away the parts of original lock mechanism. They will be in the way of the printed part.

Once printen. Insert the magnets (might need glue to make em stay in). Stick all the parts together with the magnets and glue the whole thing to the lid first (i used hotglue as it fills up the uneven surface of the lid). Do this to make sure the tabs are perpendicular with the magnets that go into the inner part of the armrest. After that glue the inlay to the inner part of the armrest.
