I absolutely love Soggy Auggy's foam comb. It's probably the best foam dart picker that I've personally used. However I don't keep wooden dowels on hand. I do have a ton of scrap PVC pipe laying around, though. So I remixed the design to work with a ½" schedule 40 PVC pipe. This should be a snug fit, but I recommend putting a few dabs of hot glue in the bottom of the pocket before inserting the pipe.

The CAD model I made for this is parametric, so if you would like a version sized to fit something that you have on hand, please provide me with an exact outer dimension and I can create it for you with the appropriate clearances.

I also remixed the tines to have threads on them instead of needing to be shoved into the body with pliers. The friction fit design definitely works, but it's hard to get them all inserted all the way. After making my first foam comb, I wanted to make three more. However I wasn't looking forward to installing 72 more of those tines.

Lastly, I included a hand held dart pick to help pull all the darts out in one motion. I like to just empty the darts into my dump pouch as I go around and collect them, so the little bucket attachment wasn't going to work for me.

All models are provided in proper printing orientation. Print this in PETG. You will need 24 tines and they should be printed at 100% infill, with mouse-ear brims on both ends. Be careful not to attach the mouse-ear to the threaded portion, or it will be difficult to clean up. (See picture)

I used an octagonal shape for the main part of the tine, which seems to bend more uniformly than the truncated cylinder from the original design. As such, I don't believe that they need to be oriented in any specific rotation when assembled. At least, I haven't noticed a difference.

Update 12/14/2025: Added my version of the tacticool handle to fit the PVC pipe.
