The model is symmetric and the same print can be used on either side.

Installing the lock swivel may allow leaving out the supporting wood strip from behind the bottom of the shelf as the lock itself acts as a backing support piece. A “wide” version is provided with even larger support area.

A Fusion 360 model is provided for further tuning.

Differences of the remix compared to the original

I tried a bunch of different french cleat locking techniques and I liked Zneucity's 3d printed swivel lock best. My model is a complete redesign of that swivel lock with some small improvements:

  • The lock over-rotates by a few degrees (the top side is at an angle), making it less likely to open when you rattle the shelf
  • A small lip is added to the finger dimple to make the lock easier to open
