These are 3D printed parts for mounting a Raspberry Pi, field control hardware, and other accessories to the back of VEX Robotics Competition field monitors. The 3D printed parts are attached to the monitor with strong double-sided tape (e.g. VHB tape), and have #8-32 heat-set inserts (example link) into which the parts are screwed. That way everything is mounted securely, but it's still easy to remove and swap out a part if something breaks mid-event.
Descriptions of parts:
- “Pi Case Lid” and “Pi Case Base” comprise a case for a Raspberry Pi 3B, 4B, or 5. The base has heat-set inserts for attaching the lid, and also mounting holes to screw it to 2 2in rails. The Pi case is a modified version of this design by Taylor Chien.
- “2in Rail” is a simple rectangle with two heat set inserts spaced 2 inches apart. Used to mount the Pi case.
- “3in Rail” is the same thing but with the holes 3 inches apart. Used for mounting the V5 smart field control brain or legacy field controller.
- “1.5in Rail” is the same thing but with the holes 1.5 inches apart. Used for the compact brain bracket.
- “Brain Bracket” attaches to the mounting holes on the back of V5 brain and adds mounting holes accessible from the front, to be screwed into the 3in rail.
- “Compact brain bracket” is a more compact bracket for mounting the V5 brain. Attaches to the short side of the brain with 0x2 VEX IQ pins.
- “PoE Splitter Mount” is for mounting this PoE splitter, which can be used to power the monitor and/or V5 brain. The mount is attached directly to the monitor, and a couple of velcro straps hold the splitter to the mount.
- “Switch Mount” is for mounting this PoE+ repeating switch.
All parts can be printed in the obvious orientation without support.
