Dyson DC14 Cord Retainer

Our Dyson DC14 upright took a bit of a tumble and the cord retaining arm broke. This replacement part is a fairly easy print (there are supports) and an easy repair.

Disassembly/Repair:

1. Use a spudger (or sharp edge) to pop the gray center cap (see photo) off the cord retainer.
2. Unscrew the retaining arm – keep the screw and spring.
3. Reverse the steps to replace with this print.

Printing:

• Cord retainer
  • PETG recommended for strength (brittle PLA may not survive another tumble)
  • Print with the arm-side flat on the build plate
  • Print with supports on the build plate only
• Cap (optional)
  • Print flat side down
  • No supports
  • This print is untested - I reused my old cap
