Our Dyson DC14 upright took a bit of a tumble and the cord retaining arm broke. This replacement part is a fairly easy print (there are supports) and an easy repair.
Disassembly/Repair:
- Use a spudger (or sharp edge) to pop the gray center cap (see photo) off the cord retainer.
- Unscrew the retaining arm – keep the screw and spring.
- Reverse the steps to replace with this print.
Printing:
- Cord retainer
- PETG recommended for strength (brittle PLA may not survive another tumble)
- Print with the arm-side flat on the build plate
- Print with supports on the build plate only
- Cap (optional)
- Print flat side down
- No supports
- This print is untested - I reused my old cap
