This model allows you to mount a Logitech C270 webcam on your Eryone Thinker SE X Axis, on top of the motor. Stock Thinker SE is compatible as well, but I also ensured clearances with the stiffening threaded rods I have installed. The mount is fixed and gives the best possible view of the bed, still allowing up/down tilt of the camera. There are ziptie channels on the side to fix the webcam cable (not used in the pictures). Camera doesn't wiggle or loose its tilt over time due to the mount being pretty rigid.

To allow mounting the webcam on the X axis you have to clear the motor pulley, so I created a spacer that does just that.

BOM

  • 4 M3x30 (BHCS preferred) to fix the mount to the motor. They will replace the motor screws
  • M3x25 (BHCS preferred) + M3 locknut to fix the camera to its mount

Mounting

The spacer has a specific orientation: You can see the opening has a straight side and an angled side, keep the angled side downwards. This is to have clearance for when the toolhead is to the left, which pushes the belt downwards a bit

Have the camera mounting bolt be exposed for screwing (so bolt head on the external side), and keep the locknut from turning while securing the camera by fitting a screwdriver or tweezers head in between the nut and the mount

Different motors

This mods has been designed with the stock X motor in mind, but if you want to swap it out with one that doesn't have an integrated pulley (for a proper gates gt2 belt replacement in my case) you will need more space for the shaft to fit. I added a 22mm spacer which is 5mm thicker than the stock one, which will clear the shaft and will require M3X35 bolts to mount

Tips

Camera out of focus? Replace the front shell with this one to have a handy focus ring you can turn without having to open the webcam any more times

Model origin

The author remixed this model.

Differences of the remix compared to the original

Took inspiration from this model but did substantial changes to fit a C270 on my Thinker SE

  • added motor spacer
  • reworked camera distance and tilt
  • replaced the C170 mount with a C270 compatible one
  • added ziptie holes on the side
