PLA, 15% adaptive cubic infill and 2 perimeters has given me a suitable balance of stiffness between not falling off while working and not being too cumbersome to detach. PETG is too bendy for this.
Push the top prong down with your thumb while pulling the bottom of the tape outwards to get it out. Put it back with a similar or reversed motion, whatever feels natural. It's very easy to use once you get used to it. Much better than digging through pockets while holding whatever you want to wrap with your other hand.
