Update Notes 24 August 2025 :

- Improved left-right spam rate
Description :
I bet Cyclone 2 owners notices how much travel the Dpad has before actually hitting the buttons. Don't get me wrong, I love this controller the way it is, but man that travel is way too much, sometimes I lose inputs during fast movements (I play rhythm games, Project Diva).
And so here it is, a 3D printable mod for Gamesir Cyclone 2 Dpad for Less Travel, less wobble, and faster click. Video in action https://imgur.com/a/WgSFr5G
This whole mod consists of two-3D printable part; a DPad insert, and a DPad ring guard. The DPad insert increases the button contact by roughly 0.5mm. This mod alone already removed a lot of pretravel. And the second part, the DPad ring guard limits the maximum downward travel, and removing remaining wobble.
if you like snappy presses, and less wobbles, this would be a good mod. If you use a lot of diagonal inputs, this mod will significantly make it easier to hit diagonals.
EFFECTS :
- Removed pre-travel on the DPad.
- Easier diagonal inputs. Easier thumb-rolling motion.
- Dpad will feel slightly stiffer compared to the stock dpad, simply because of the minimised travel and the added ring guard.
- (FIXED) Because of the improved diagonals, this mod does not pass contra & tetris test. If you like tight accurate dpad inputs, this might not suit you
ISSUES :
- Update 24 August 2025 : "somewhat passes tetris test", as long you dont “Rest” your whole thumb on the dpad
- Possible diagonal misinput when spamming up-down, only if you roll your thumb over the dpad.
- Video explanation here
- Update 29 August 2025 : Slightly resolved previous issues with directional misinput.
PRINT INSTRUCTIONS
- Print using 0.4mm nozzle
- 0.1 mm layer height
- Enable ironing (especially for the ring guard)
- Preferably use Smooth bed for better layer accuracy
- TESTED USING PETG. Printed parts are re-measured and confirmed to be dimensionally true-to-CAD.
INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS
All the instruction are written with the controller facing down.
- Disassemble the controller by removing 7 screws from the bottom. You need small torx key.
- Remove the top and bottom shell WITH THE TOP SHELL FACING DOWN, you dont want those small buttons to fall out.
- Take out the dpad, and place the printed Dpad insert part inside the cavity of the dpad as shown

- Put the dpad back to the top shell still facing down, and place the ring guard inside of the Dpad assembly. Thicker part goes on top, thinner part goes on bottom.

- Insert the “center pivot” part on the middle of the dpad rubber.
- Carefully put the other half of the controller together, with the top shell still facing down.
- Before screwing, clamp the controller using your hand, and test the dpad clicks. Make sure it only clicks in one direction, even when pressing the button all the way down. Also try checking diagonals, make sure you only hear 2 clicks. If anything goes wrong, redo the whole process.
- Re-screwing order recommendation:
- middle screw, every left side screw (dpad-side), then right side (XYAB side)
- tighten carefully, try pressing the shell together to check if your controller is tightened enough
