Description

PDF

A mod for the Blobifier mod that replaces the tray and servo arm with a rack+pinion mechanism to allow for a shorter base.

Note: I'd recommend adding some plastic-safe grease to the rack and pinion interface to reduce wear and tear in the long run.

For more details on this mod, BOM and instructions, please visit the original mod Github repository: https://github.com/Dendrowen/Blobifier/

Note: this mod uses the same hardware and servo (SG90) as the original Blobifier (minus the parts that aren't needed here, like the bucket, brush and shaker.

For macros, you either use the Blobifier through:

  • the HappyHare MMU software using the embedded add-on, or
  • Blobifier's official standalone macro (which i noticed required some manual tweaking to not create errors/crashes).
  • Micron's own hartk@'s macro, found in the downloads section

Notes:

  • The model for the nozzle silicone brush bucket shown in red can be found here.
  • The model for the Blobifier bucket (and the full set of crap catcher buckets) customized for the Micron can be found here.

Model origin

The author remixed this model.

Differences of the remix compared to the original

Original tray is actuated by a servo arm that uses a pin+slot approach to motion. This version uses a rack and pinion mechanism instead to save height as the motion and travel planes are aligned. This change requires prolonging the tray size to allow for full range of motion, but the tray still fully fits inside the original base depth when retracted. The base has been shortened. The base mount has been modified to be used with 1515 extrusions.
