I lost my charger cap, so designed a new one and made it 2-color print for MK3S+ and MMU2.
I had one design earlier (also posted here somewhere) but this part was too flimpsy and had no logo. So I redesigned it, more rigid, more robust.
Printed with my Prusa MK3S+ which had today (08-Aug-2025 its 7th birthday. Happy birrthday MK3!. I also used my MMU2s for this print. As MMUs do not like TPU very much, I printed it with a trick:
Now I sliced the parts Plug and Logo together in Prusa Slicer. Starting with the print of the logo first. That experienced of bringing less strings. Printed very slow speed, 200°C and 45°C bed, 0.2mm LH. Printer prints Logo first, then changes filament, prints Plug 1st layer and 2nd layer, changes filament, prints Logo 2nd layer and 3rd layer. Plug 3rd and 4th layer, filament change to 4th layer Logo, then filament change and the rest is done with same filament / color.
Trick: The trick I use is not to go through and entry in the MMU, no storage, but feed from above (I have an opening). When MMU feeds filament I enter beforementioned 150mm piece into the outlet of the MMU, until the LED indicates that filament is detected. Now the moror runs faster, and I enter appropriate filament (color) into the extruder, sensor detects and loads just normal filament into extruder, rams, back and forth, etc. Starts printing purge tower and the part(s).
Now: When a next filament change is on, the motor of MMU retracts fast, take the filament out of the extruder and wait a second, take 150mm piece from outlet off, pretending the machine that filament is bacjk in start position. MMU selects next color, starts motor slow, NOW insert the 150mm piece again, motor spins faster AND insert the new filament into the extruder, and so on, and so on.
This is quite a bit nut driving, but with that trick I get my machine working with different colors in TPU.
In case you only want to print the Bosch charger cover plug in one color I have added also a simple one color version. Thatswhy don't worry, be happy
