Luggage Wheel Tire Repair

This is a tire to repair luggage wheels where the rubbery part has disintegrated. I made it for a two-wheeled Samsonite but found it also fitting another generic brand luggage, it might be a common size.

Dimensions can be seen in this cross section view (outer diameter 85mm, width 18mm):

It must be printed in a flexible filament, I used 95A TPU (SainSmart) which seems very suitable. With some struggle it can be pressed over the broken wheel.

I first made two models with thread patterns before realizing that just makes the wheels noisy. The slicks version is recommended.

Printing Tips

I had no problem printing TPU on the Prusa MINI using one of the available profiles in PrusaSlicer.

• No supports.
• 4 perimeters to make it solid
• Random seam position to avoid bumps
• 6 solid top and bottom layers
• Concentric top and bottom fill patterns
