Shimano Derailleur CAGE LOCK

There are some designs out there trying to solve this problem. But i think that this is the most elegant solution. A way to lock your Shimano rear derailleur Cage. Permanently mounted to your rear derailleur while looking nice.

It replaces the Cover of your derailleur clutch.

Compatibility: 

Deore XT M8100 and XTR M9100 (models with external clutch tension adjustment screw) ;

Deore M5100, Deore M6100 and SLX M7100 (models without external clutch tension adjustment Screw)

Shown in the Images is the Deore XT M8100 model.

The assembly takes little but some instructions. Here they are, it worked for me.

1. Print the models the way they are oriented. Print in 0.1mm layer height.

2. Print the “body.stl” with supports. Put the supports only in the boltholes.
   The “body.stl” needs a 4mm long, 5mm diameter M3 threaded Insert on the left.

3. The “ring_colouredAccent.stl” is dimensioned a little smaller than the slot its supposed to be pressed into. Its a press fit. Use a Hammer and maybe a small Nail to drive it in. Put the Nailhead onto the ring while hammering.

4. The “lockarm.stl” needs a 6mm long, 5mm diameter M3 theaded insert. Put the insert in and use a 3mm drill to drill the threads out. Its just a habit to do it that way. I think it helps a little in preventing the holes from wearing out. Wasn't necessary in this occasion. 

5. You need two M3 countersunk Screws. 
   One to mount the “lockArm.stl”, it shoud be M3x12mm to 14mm.
   One To mount the “lockArmHandle.stl”, it should be M3x18mm. You can shorten the handle to your linking in your slicer so that you can use a shorter Screw.
    

I have printed everything out of PETG CF. Works like a treat. Have not tried to use PLA.
