Paper tray - modular descign - landscape orientation

Overview

I took this model as an inspiration and created my own design with some major modifications:

• The paper orientation is “landscape” which means that the open side of the paper tray is on the long edge. This is because that tray is supposed to go on an IKEA Billy, but Billy has a depth of 28 cm while A4 paper has 29.7 cm in length. To solve this I rotated by 90 degrees, so now you can get the paper on the long edge.
• The tray only consists of 2 pieces which are connected by 3 screws M3x12 and the nuts. 
• To avoid using lots of screws on the connectors between the trays I designed them with printed pins that fit into the holes of the tray. 
• Connectors between trays are provided in different heights between 20 mm 40mm 

Printing instructions

• I printed this with PLA Matte.
• Tray: Infill 25%, 2 perimeters. 
• Foot and connectors: Infill 50%, 3 perimeters

Assembly instructions

• Connect left and right part of the tray with M3 screws and nuts. 
• Mount the feet on the lowest tray
• Use connectors to connect a lower tray with the one above. 2 connectors on the left side, 2 connectors on the right side, 2 connectors on the back.
