Hi all,
Very simple model, but it will be very useful to people who have bought old broadcast lenses that are missing their zoom stick. Or have lost their zoom stick on a modern lens. Zoom sticks are pretty hard to buy as spare parts.
The files included are for very basic zoom sticks, they require a M3 machine screw with a round head (not hex). The M3 screw should have a 10mm long thread section.
3 lengths of zoom stick are included in this pack:
12mm, 16mm and 22mm
They should be printed with a brim or similar as this will stop them falling over mid print.
I have made a short video about the zoom stick models here:
As I say, these are VERY simple, just a cylinder with a rounded over top and 2 other cylinders cut out of the original shape to make space for the bolt thread and head.
Feel free to take this information and make your own, since they are so simple. A normal stock zoom stick would usually have a ball/sphere at the end of it.
Notes when using longer zoom sticks on cameras with top 15mm rods. A long zoom stick can collide with the top set of rods on a rig. Just something to be aware of. I personally use the 12mm zoom stick on my lenses, as most of my zooming is done with the servo drive and a 12mm short zoom stick keeps out of the way of your left hand on the focus ring.
