Hand Fan - Honeycomb

A hand fan with a hexagonal pattern, based on my Classic Hand Fan design.

This model can be printed in more than one color, even if you don't have a multi-color printer.

Fan size (length of the blade): 

• S - 14,5 cm
• M - 19 cm

Printing advice

• All the parts can be printed without support.
• For a left-hand version, mirror all the blades and the front/back covers.
• Colors: The fan from the pictures was printed in 3 colors by adding a “Color Change” step. Height will depend on your layer height settings:
  • Front Cover → ⬜⬛
  • Blades 1-6 & 9 → ⬜⬛
  • Blades 7 & 8 → ⬜⬛🟨⬛
  • Back Cover → ⬛⬜⬛
• For better results, make sure the printing seams are not on the sliding surface of the pin (see picture below). You can use the “Seam Painting” function to block/enforce the seam location.

Assembly instructions (see picture)

1. Align all the blades, including the front and back covers.
2. Insert the hinge rod
3. Add the hinge caps

Note: The fan will unfold more smoothly as you open and close it a few times.
