Overview

This custom-designed charging dock combines function and minimalist aesthetics, tailored specifically for Apple MagSafe-compatible iPhones and the Garmin Fenix 7/8 smartwatch. The dock consists of two interlocking base components, a decorative laser-cut wood panel, and four M4 threaded inserts that secure everything in place.

Whether on your nightstand or office desk, this dock offers a stylish and stable charging solution made from quality materials and engineered for daily use.

Parts Included

Main Base – Part A (lower section with cutouts for cable management)

Top Shell – Part B (upper platform with holders for MagSafe puck and Garmin charger)

Decorative Front Panel – Laser-cut from 3mm plywood, precision-crafted for a perfect fit

4x M4 Threaded Inserts – For long-lasting durability and repeated assembly

4x M4 Screws – To fasten the components securely (not included in design but needed)

Materials

3D printed PLA or PETG (recommended for base and top shell)

3mm laser-cut plywood (for decorative front panel)

Brass or zinc-plated M4 threaded inserts

Assembly Instructions

Prepare the Parts:

Ensure all 3D printed parts are clean and free of stringing or warping.

Sand the laser-cut wood panel edges if needed for a snug fit.

Test-fit the MagSafe puck and Garmin charger into their respective slots.

Insert the Threaded Inserts:

Heat the M4 threaded inserts using a soldering iron (if using heat-set inserts).

Press the inserts into the pre-designed holes in the base (Part A) while applying gentle pressure.

Let them cool completely before continuing.

Install the Charging Cables:

Place the Apple MagSafe charger puck into the round holder on the top shell.

Feed the USB cable through the internal channel toward the rear.

Insert the Garmin Fenix charger into the designed recess, also routing the cable neatly through the channel.

Attach the Top Shell (Part B):

Align Part B on top of Part A, ensuring the cable cutouts line up correctly.

Insert M4 screws through the top part and fasten them into the threaded inserts in the base.

Apply the Decorative Wood Panel:

Align the wooden faceplate with the front cutout of the assembled dock.

Use wood glue or double-sided adhesive tape to secure it (optional: use friction fit depending on design).

Final Setup

Once assembled, connect the USB cables to a power source. Place your iPhone on the MagSafe puck and attach the Garmin Fenix 7 to its dock. Both devices should charge simultaneously while resting on a clean, organized platform.
