Pelican Case 1150 Insert Template - Parametric

Customisable 1150 case template for safely holding tools, projects, cyber decks or what ever you can sculpt into the template. I've done my best to make it as customisable as possible. My assumption is each case made will have inevitable size variability. I like to test how tight a fit I can get in my projects, and also assume I'm not alone in that desire. This is a good working model for that. 

The lid was close to the same dimensions as the body, but slightly different. I decided to make it independently adjustable to the case body. At least for my example, the lid doesn't have draft angle. There is a parameter for that in case that isn't universal. 

 

The as modelled dimensions worked for me, but do your own measuring to confirm your application. You hopefully won't need to change dimensions by much. 

I modelled in a dome or dish to the bottom of the case as mine was not flat. The dome distance is also parameterised for your pleasure. If you're lucky enough to have a flat bottom to your case just suppress the loft command in the timeline.

There is a locating knob that locks into the pressure relief valve. Making holding in place easier, but at the expense of making removing harder. If you don't want or need that, suppress its loft in the timeline. 

My case's sides bowed in a little. To fix this I used a quick clamp, swapping the ends to expand the bowed side out for a week or two. Worked a charm and worked much nicer with the inserts.
